About the Event
The laughs are back to Buried Acorn Brewing Company when Homebrewed Comedy comes to Syracuse on Friday, Nov. 5. Jesse Winterhalter is headlining the show and will be there with Brian Netzel , Sara Shipley and host Mike Peters.
The show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available online now and at the door, which will open at 6:30.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.
Sara Shipley is a quick-rising star within the Upstate, N.Y., comedy scene. The 2021 winner of Rochester’s Funniest Person, Shipley is a performance triple threat -- improvisor, actor and comedian. She’s opened for some of the biggest names in comedy, including April Macie, Tammy Pescatelli and Jim Norton. She performs stand-up regularly at Comedy at the Carlson in Rochester and at the Focus Theater with The Urge Improv team.
Brian Netzel is a stand-up comic from Buffalo, N.Y. A regular performer at Helium Comedy Club in Buffalo, Netzel has performed all over the country. He was at the Alaska Comedy Festival, The Milwaukee Festival and the Savage Henry Comedy Festival in Eureka, Calif.
Jesse Winterhalter is comedian from Buffalo N.Y. In addition to headlining his own shows, he worked with some of the country's best comics, including Colin Quinn, Big Jay Oakerson, Robert Kelly, Kurt Metzger and many others. He’s performed at The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, N.Y., and a variety of comedy clubs around the country. He is also on the "Bourbon Legends" podcast and runs a weekly show at Milkies on Elmwood.
