About the Event

The laughs are coming to  Chemung when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at O'Brien's Inn on Friday, Nov. 12. Zack Hammond is headlining the show and RJ Purpura and host Mike Peters will be there, too.

Seating begins at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8. It's completely free, so tip the staff extra well.

About the comedians:

Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.

Originally from Rochester, RJ Purpura has been writing and performing comedy for many years and has had the privilege of working with comedians such as Dave Attell, Doug Stanhope, Big Jay Oakerson, Gilbert Gottfriend and Dan Soder. Purpura’s rapid-fire witticisms cover a wide variety of topics, all with an (un)healthy dose of self-deprecation, that lead to him being named the 2017 Funniest Person in Rochester. Purpura has performed all over upstate New York, in New York City, at the Finger Lakes Comedy Festival and the Rochester Fringe Festival.

Originally from Maryland, Zack Hammond has been doing stand-up for more than a decade and has traveled all over the country while working on recording his four albums, including his latest, “... Because I’m Considerate.” He performs regularly at Wise Crackers in Scranton and has worked in New York City, Philadelphia and Baltimore and opened for Doug Stanhope. Known for his dark take on life, the world and humanity, Hammond won the 2010 NEPA Comedy Idol and NEPA Scene’s Got Talent in 2015.
