The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hit the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Dec. 15. Paul Spratt is headlining the show and Bill Lake and Becky Wiggins will be joining host Mike Peters.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $5 at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.
Becky Wiggins is a comedian in Rome, N.Y. She’s a regular at the Uptown Theater and the Hub in Utica and runs the open mic at Chris’ Grub and Pub in Rome. A realtor in her daily life, Wiggins is always good for a laugh on any stage she touches.
A former contributing writer for David Letterman and Craig Ferguson, Bill Lake is a host at the Syracuse Funny Bone, performed yearly at the Binghamton Comedy Crawl and is a founder of the Boho Comedy Club in Binghamton. He’s performed at the Salem Comedy Festival, the Asheville Comedy Festival, the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, the Plano Comedy Festival and North Carolina Comedy Festival. One of Binghamton’s strongest comedians, Lake uses his smart writing to entertain audiences all over the upstate area. He made the finals of Buffalo’s Funniest Person in 2021.
An up-and-coming comedian in New York City, Paul Spratt has worked in clubs in the tri-state area and scored well in comedy competitions and festivals. Before moving to New York, Spratt began honing his craft in Scranton, Pa. Spratt recorded his first full-length comedy album, “F**k Yeah! Paul’s Here,” in 2017. He’s been featured on Comcast and Sirius XM.
